Mountains stand before me
their peaks of ice and frost
my frozen soul behind me
my past which won't let go

walking, waiting, peering
embracing cold in the woods
of paths in front of me
I haven't the courage to choose

dark is falling, the horizon is red
I feel the branches around me
grasping my legs and mind
tangled in the briars of indecision

There is no hope here, and none behind
within the darkness of my inner thoughts
amongst these trees of sorrowed black
I reach into the pitch

my body pulled into the abyss

curled upon the forest floor
nature reclaims what was always hers
